Industries

Hospitality, Entertainment, and Leisure

The hospitality, entertainment, and leisure industry is a critical industry in many locations where our geographic footprint extends. We are privileged to represent hotels, nightclubs, Mardi Gras krewes, arenas and venues, special events, product suppliers, and their insurers, as well as entertainers and performers. Our hospitality, entertainment, and leisure cases have involved claims of premises defects, inadequate security, labor and employment, and negligent operations, to name only a few.

Galloway also serves on the Charter Board of Directors of the NRRDA (www.nrrda.org), an organization formed to advance and protect the interests of the retail and restaurant industries by developing strategies to reduce the number and severity of claims, manage common risks, and enhance our defense position in litigated matters. Its national membership includes corporate counsel, industry representatives, insurance representatives, and defense counsel.

Several of our directors also are actively involved in IALDA (www.ialda.org), the International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association, an association of operators, defense counsel, insurance professionals, experts and others actively engaged in representing the interests of the amusement, recreation, sports, and leisure industries. Galloway Director Lambert J. Hassinger, Jr. (“Joe”) served as president of IALDA for the 2010-2012 term.

We also proactively seek ways to add value to our client relationships for the industries and clients we represent.  This includes presenting educational seminars as part of employee training programs, at industry conferences, and for insurance carriers and their insureds, and by publishing articles and risk management guidelines. Important topics for our clients have included litigation trends, insurance coverage, indemnity, implementing and maintaining a culture of safety, incident investigation, substantive areas of law, risk management, mock trials, trial practice, depositions, government regulations, and industry standards.
