Chris Burge understands that success in law, as in business, stems from the ability to anticipate the motivations and goals of the people on both sides of the table. Chris has more than a decade of corporate and managerial experience and applies this background to client representation in business transactions, insurance coverage and defense, governmental entity defense, healthcare compliance and contracts, and general tort and contract law litigation across Louisiana.

Early in his career, Mr. Burge served at a national administrative legal company specializing in large-scale class actions, securities, and bankruptcy settlements. There he managed large claims processing and call center teams, and was intricately involved with operations, human resources, vendor relations, and business development.

Chris moved to Louisiana to serve as a project manager over the processing of Deepwater Horizon claims, after which time he decided to remain in Louisiana permanently and join a local, nationally recognized third-party insurance administration company. In this new role, Mr. Burge developed an intimate understanding of health insurance and the healthcare industry by analyzing individual and aggregate claims coverage data, drafting client-tailored plan documents and benefit summaries, handling claims appeals and Department of Insurance inquiries, and evaluating complex coverage and audit issues.

In 2020, Chris capitalized on his education and decade of corporate experience by pursing a legal career as a practicing attorney and began practicing with a smaller firm on the North Shore before joining Galloway. Chris lives in Mandeville with his wife, Kristen, and their four children where he enjoys spending most of his “free” time being actively involved in his children’s’ activities.

Representative Matters

  • Defended civil matters including property insurance claims, general contractual disputes, personal injury cases, and government entity suits
  • Assisted in plan compliance with the Affordable Care Act, ERISA, the CARES Act, and COVID-19 regulations
  • Assisted in Department of Insurance claims appeals
