Kenny R. Cantrell is an experienced litigator representing businesses and individuals in a wide array of commercial, tort and insurance litigation matters. Mr. Cantrell’s diverse client base includes entrepreneurs, franchisees, closely held and family-owned businesses, healthcare companies and professionals, trucking companies, property management companies, hotels, restaurants, real estate developers, construction companies, technology companies, and insurers in all phases of dispute resolution. This includes active litigation in transportation litigation, professional malpractice defense, first party property defense, complex insurance coverage matters and disputes and commercial litigation. Mr. Cantrell also serves on Galloway Johnson’s diversity committee.

Mr. Cantrell received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law where he was a member of the Bench and Bar Honor Society and a member of the Alabama Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Law Review. While in law school, he served as a Legal Extern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama in the Civil Litigation Division. Mr. Cantrell also earned an L.L.M from Emory University in Commercial Law and Litigation, and served as a Legal Intern for Judge Andrea Simonton in the Southern District of Florida.

In 2020, Mr. Cantrell succeeded at summary judgment on behalf of two major fast-food franchisors in high exposure case involving traumatic brain injury. He also succeeded on summary judgment pm behalf of a transportation company in high exposure wrongful death matter.

This year, Mr. Cantrell succeeded on motion to dismiss in a legal malpractice lawsuit on behalf of a major and influential nursing home and medical malpractice law firm.

Mr. Cantrell is a former board member for the National LGBT Bar Association and a former board member for the University of Alabama LGBT Alumni Association.
