Rebecca E. Duggan is an associate in Galloway’s New Orleans, Louisiana office. Rebecca focuses her practice in insurance defense litigation and insurance coverage litigation. She is passionate about working with clients to identify the most effective and efficient resolution for the case or matter. Oftentimes, she meets clients when they are on the verge of litigation or after a lawsuit has been filed naming them as a party.

Clients engage Rebecca because of her thoroughness and willingness to explore all aspects of potential case resolution. She puts clients at ease by identifying solutions, minimizing exposure, and maximizing available solutions and/or defenses. She believes in a personalized approach and is fully prepared to litigate a case from presuit through trial, and if necessary, appeal, depending on the needs and desires of each client.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Rebecca graduated from Kansas State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. After completing her undergraduate studies, she received her Juris Doctorate from University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2008. In law school, she participated in an Indigent Defense Clinic, receiving early trial experience as a student attorney.

Following law school, she practiced for several years in Chicago, in the realm of insurance defense handling cases involving medical malpractice, general tort litigation, construction negligence, premise liability and other direct negligence actions. She also received extensive experience handling insurance coverage disputes with broad exposure to both third and first party insurance disputes for various Lloyd’s of London syndicates regarding complex issues of contract formation, policy interpretation, policy defenses, and dispute resolution. Prior to joining Galloway, Rebecca relocated to New Orleans to work for a boutique insurance defense firm where she handled cases involving general liability, professional negligence, whistleblower actions, and catastrophic loss for state, federal, and multi-district litigation.

In her free time, she paints, practices yoga, and enjoys spending time with her husband, Evan, family, friends and partaking in the many cultural and musical offerings of New Orleans.
