The Lafayette Bar Association held their annual Court Opening on Thursday, October 5th. Our local Galloway office was proud to have three attorneys from Lafayette, Louisiana admitted this year: Hayden Presley, Jacques Migues, and Madeline Smith.

Jason Wilson, Director and Lindsay Meador Young, Director and incoming President of the Lafayette Bar Association attended the event to support their associates.

“We have been impressed with these attorneys since their first day. They have represented Galloway and their clients with incredible knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail. I know these amazing attorneys will serve us well in future legal endeavors. We are thrilled to have them admitted into this wonderful association,” said Wilson.

“As the incoming President of the Lafayette Bar Association, it was extra special to welcome Madeline Smith, Jacques Migues, and Hayden Presley to the Lafayette Bar.  They have proven to be integral in our Lafayette office and we know they will have the same effect in our community.  We look forward to seeing success from each of them in their practice and at Galloway,” said Young.

Hayden Presley understands the practice of law is not all legal research and brief writing. While he places a great deal of emphasis on thoroughly and accurately researched legal conclusions and articulately written briefs and motions, he places a high value and emphasis on clear communication and availability to his clients. Presley knows that litigation can sometimes be frustrating for clients so he focuses on being personable, clear, and honest with his clients at all times.

Before coming back home to Louisiana, Presley worked at a Houston law firm, specializing in commercial litigation and federal practice. While there, he was able to represent large real estate clients and corporations, conducting extensive legal research into defamation, state actors, and the First Amendment. His practice is now focused on Workers’ Compensation, insurance defense and coverage, and general civil litigation.

Jacques Migues is a tenacious defender of clients’ rights who is always ready and willing to guide clients through every phase of a matter – striving to achieve the optimal result. He is known for his clear and continuous communication with clients, his understanding of their objectives, and his willingness to do whatever it takes to get the outcome clients have the right to expect. Jacques is a hard worker who prides himself on both excellent client service and results. He focuses his practice on insurance defense and commercial litigation.

Madeline Smith is a valuable advocate for her clients and achieves the best possible results based on their objectives. To that end, she develops a goal-oriented strategy for each case, keeping in mind what judges and juries care about, and taking the time to develop and understand the underlying subject matter. Smith believes in aggressive advocacy, with insights developed through her litigation experience.

Smith’s practice focuses on defending claims of personal injury, maritime, and workers’ compensation matters, including Louisiana state and Longshore, construction, and premises liability. She is also proficient in issues of insurance coverage and defense and indemnity obligations.
