Our summer law clerk program provides an outstanding opportunity for first- or second-year law students to experience the real-life challenges of the legal profession while making meaningful contributions to our firm and our clients. For 3L students, we offer post-bar law clerk positions in select offices as a pathway to begin your career in law.
We accept resumes year-round but conduct on-campus interviews at local schools during the fall and spring. Galloway regularly participates in recruitment programs at law schools and community events.
What to Expect: A summer law clerk’s time with our firm lasts six weeks. The program’s overall goal is to allow clerks to gain firsthand experience in various areas of practice while working alongside the attorneys at our firm.
Orientation and Training: Our team will start out by providing an orientation and training program that will introduce you to the support functions of our law firm – including library services, software, technology, etc. You may also be invited to attend meetings, seminars, legal education presentations and in-house training sessions.
Real-life Work Experience: You’ll be working directly with our attorneys in their day-to-day activities – giving you the opportunity to experience the legal system firsthand. This may include performing legal research, drafting motions and accompanying attorneys to depositions, hearings and mediations. In addition, summer law clerks also get to know our lawyers and professional staff outside the office through lunches, social gatherings and recreational outings – allowing you to experience the vibrant culture that makes Galloway such a great place to work.
