Houston, Texas, June 22, 2011- Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith, PLC, a Gulf South defense firm, is pleased to announce that Ron T. Capehart has been appointed Chairman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Horse Show Announcers Committee.
With this appointment, Ron will oversee the announcers of all of the Horse Show breed events held during February and March during the Show each year. Ron previously served as Vice Chairman of Training and Equipment for the Horse Show Announcers Committee.
Ron has been with the firm since 2006 and practices in trucking and transportation, admiralty and maritime and energy sectors, representing industry leaders in litigation and arbitration. Additionally, Ron regularly counsels trucking, maritime, oil and gas and aviation clients in transactional and contract matters.
Ron has been a volunteer for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for fifteen years, serving on the Horse Show Announcers Committee and Speakers Committee and routinely speaks to high school students and to business and civic groups about the Show’s scholarship programs, the history of the cowboy and cattle Industry, and Texas agriculture.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a 501(c)(3) charity that benefits youth, supports education, and facilitates better agricultural practices through exhibitions and presentation. Since its beginning in 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has committed more than $265 million to the youth of Texas.
