Law Firm Celebrates Anniversary With Volunteer Service
March 10, 2012 More than 30 employees from Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr and Smith celebrated the law firm’s 25th anniversary with a volunteer day at four Volunteers of America community homes for persons with disabilities and veterans.
Volunteers of America sends hearty thanks to Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr and Smith for their generosity and service, especially for choosing to help people in need to commemorate a milestone.
Volunteers of America’s community homes are truly homes for small groups of persons with disabilities who are unable to live independently. The community homes, located in residential neighborhoods around metro New Orleans, allow persons to function more productively with appropriate help and support.
The law firm group did extensive painting and landscaping at our three community homes for these persons on Olympia, Iberville and Gayoso Streets in MidCity.
In addition, they completed landscaping work at a community home on Gayoso Street for veterans who used to be homeless. Part of Volunteers of America’s Veterans Services, this home houses veterans who are transitioning to independence. Volunteers of America works with veterans in crisis by helping them put together an individualized plan to put their lives back together and regain independence.
