Tim Hassinger of GJTBS is the Louisiana author of the Defense Research Institute’s new publication, The Collateral Source Rule: A Compendium of State Law, which is the latest edition to DRI’s Defense Library Series. The Compendium is designed as a resource for in-house counsel, claims people, and attorneys on the law governing recovery of past medical expenses in personal injury actions. It will provide practitioners with the necessary authority from jurisdictions across the country to fight for improvements that compensate only actual medical expenses, as opposed to “billed” amounts that do not reflect the actual cost of such medical services.
