Galloway is pleased to congratulate its firm-sponsored and staffed team, “Aporkalypse Now,” for winning three first place awards – including overall Grand Champion – in this year’s Hogs for the Cause BBQ competition. Hogs for the Cause is a two-day fundraising festival and cook-off with other 80 competing teams and 30,000 attendees. Hogs for the Cause has emerged as the No. 1 funding event for pediatric brain cancer outreach services in the United States, raising over $760,000 this year.
Following a placement of “Reserve Grand Champion” in 2014, Galloway’s team, captained by firm attorney Larry Canada and James Cruse, placed first for “Best Ribs,” first for “Best Whole Hog,” and was named the 2015 overall Grand Champion – an enormous victory for an amateur team competing against many professional BBQ competitors, restaurants, and chefs! The team also placed fifth in the “Porkpourri” category – an award for the best creative food dish.
We would like to give a special thanks to the individuals and organizations that helped support Aporkalypse Now in its fundraising efforts for pediatric brain cancer care. Thank you to John Galloway, Jason Waguespack, Larry Canada, Midway Pizza, and the Kingpin for their generous support. Galloway would also like to recognize and congratulate its firm team members Larry Canada, Jeffrey Struckhoff, Jason Camelford, Mindy Nunez, Mike Lonegrass, Jennifer Sinder, and Scott Huete on their successful fundraising efforts and BBQ victories.
