On January 14, 2016, Tampa attorneys Michael Ruel and Maggie Potter obtained a defense verdict in a breach of contract insurance claim for sinkhole loss in Pasco County, Florida, which is commonly referred to as “sinkhole ally.” After four days of trial, the jury found that the defense carried its burden of proof in establishing that there was no sinkhole activity at the homeowner’s property, and that all the damages to the home were otherwise excluded under the insurance policy.
