We are pleased to announce that Jason Camelford (New Orleans, LA), Trip McCormick (New Orleans, LA), Heather Angelico (New Orleans, LA), Patrick Schepens (Mandeville, LA), Tony C. Jones (Atlanta, GA), Nicole Fluet (Tampa, FL), Autumn George (Tampa, FL) have been named Directors of the firm, effective January 1, 2018.
Jason Camelford is an experienced litigator who handles cases in both state and federal court. He is licensed to practice in both Florida and Louisiana, and has tried cases before judges and juries across both states. He also has successfully argued cases before several of Louisiana’s appellate courts. Jason’s current practice involves defending companies and insurers in personal injury, commercial, construction, and insurance coverage litigation. He has cross-examined hundreds of fact, expert, and medical witnesses, and become versed in the various technical aspects of his clients’ operations and the medical nuances of claims when personal injuries are involved.
John “Trip” McCormick’s practice is focused primarily in the areas of construction, energy, environmental and toxic tort, medical malpractice and insurance defense. Trip skillfully balances the aggressive pursuit of each client’s legal interests with the parallel interest of growing and developing that client’s business. The legal advice Trip provides is therefore based not only on the best potential outcome of the legal matter at hand, but also with an eye toward the preservation of valuable business relationships and the client’s hard-earned reputation in the community.
Heather Angelico serves as a litigator to the firm, with the focus of her practice on Admiralty and Maritime issues. She has extensive experience defending Employers and Carriers on matters arising under the Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, Outercontinental Shelf Lands Act, and Nonappropriated Fund Instrumentalities Act. Heather also focuses on matters involving the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA), Louisiana state workers’ compensation, and toxic tort. Heather regularly appears before the United States Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges and the United States Department of Labor, Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs, as well as state courts.
Patrick Schepen’s primary areas of practice have been maritime law and personal injury litigation. Patrick has handled cases throughout Louisiana and Mississippi in both state and federal trial and appellate courts. He is licensed to practice in all Louisiana and Mississippi state and federal courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Tony C. Jones represents businesses and individuals in a wide array of commercial, tort and insurance litigation matters. The diversity of Tony’s practice has afforded him the opportunity to represent entrepreneurs, franchisees, closely held and family-owned businesses, healthcare companies and professionals, trucking companies, property management companies, hotels, restaurants, real estate developers, construction companies, technology companies, and insurers in all phases of dispute resolution.
A native of the Tampa Bay area, Nicole Fluet practices in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage, construction defect, first-party property, intellectual property and workers compensation. Nicole is licensed to practice in the state of Florida. She has published articles on sinkhole litigation and occurrence trigger theories in Trial Advocacy Quarterly. Nicole is a member of the Tampa Bay Inns of Court and Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Since joining the firm, Autumn George devotes her practice to state and federal court litigation and has tried cases in state and federal courts and before administrative law agencies. She regularly presents continuing education seminars on a variety of topics ranging from employment practices to insurance coverage.
