Mississippi Supreme Court Confirms Summary Judgment Based on Requests for Admissions

As previously reported here, the Mississippi Court of Appeals affirmed summary judgment for the firm’s client in the case of Dillon v. PiCo, a trucking case involving a catastrophic injury.  Kathryn Breard Platt of our Mississippi office obtained the judgment after the plaintiff admitted facts fatal to his claims by failing to respond to requests for admissions in discovery.  The Mississippi Supreme Court has now confirmed the judgment, bringing the case to an end.  The decision highlights how crucial facts may be established through written discovery.
