Attorney Anthony Sullivan from the firm’s Houston office won a defense verdict for an oilfield manufacturer and designer. Our client retained a consultant to fabricate and install safety guards on several gear cutter machines located at one of its manufacturing facilities. The Plaintiff, an employee of that consultant, was tasked with installing several of the guards. During that installation, plaintiff suffered a crushed and lacerated left hand that required surgery. Plaintiff’s initial demand at mediation was $1.8 million and the demand just prior to trial was $600,0000. The jury rejected plaintiff’s claim, and returned a unanimous verdict for our client.
