GJTBS obtained a defense verdict while defending a restaurant in Panama City, Florida. The Plaintiff claimed that a dropped tray of partially filled glasses caused her to fall and suffer a hip injury. Mike Grimley and Ben Zimmern demonstrated to the jury that the cause of the fall was not a dropped tray, but the Plaintiff’s own negligence. Although Plaintiff had prior hip problems, she sought to recover for multiple post-accident hip surgeries that together with lost wages and future care placed the potential exposure well in excess of a million dollars. The Bay County jury returned a defense verdict after three days of trial.
