Houston |  The Woodlands, Texas:

Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr and Smith is seeking an experienced litigation associate to join our Houston – The Woodlands office(s) and take on a meaningful role in a fast-paced, sophisticated defense practice. Our Houston team handles a heavy, high exposure docket that includes wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, trucking and commercial transportation, maritime and energy matters, construction defect, premises liability, and complex claims arising out of offshore operations, oil and gas work, industrial accidents, and other large loss events.

We are looking for sharp, assertive litigators who take ownership of their cases, use sound judgment, and are comfortable in the courtroom and in a demanding litigation environment. The right candidate writes well, is strong on research and motion practice, and is confident in taking and defending depositions, handling hearings, arguing motions, and working directly with clients and carriers on active litigation matters. This is a good fit for someone who considers themselves among the best at what they do, wants real responsibility, and is looking to keep getting better by working on serious cases with experienced trial lawyers in a collaborative, high expectation practice.

Dallas, Texas: 

We are seeking a litigation associate with approximately 4+ years of experience to join our Dallas office and take on a meaningful role within a fast paced, sophisticated defense practice. This position is ideal for an attorney who takes ownership of their work, exercises sound judgment, and wants to build a long-term career as part of a collaborative litigation team. Our Dallas practice focuses on third party personal injury and construction defect matters, with exposure to general liability, wrongful death, premises liability, and trucking and transportation cases.

The ideal candidate is comfortable managing files with minimal oversight and understands the demands of a busy defense docket. Strong writing and analytical skills are essential, along with significant experience handling discovery and law and motion practice. Deposition experience is preferred, and trial experience is a plus. We’re looking for someone who is sharp, dependable, and able to contribute immediately, while continuing to develop as a litigator.

Jacksonville, Florida: 

Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith is seeking an experienced litigation attorney with 3+ years defense litigation experience to join our Jacksonville office. This is a hands-on role for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on a sophisticated and varied litigation docket.

Our Jacksonville practice focuses on complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts, representing businesses, insurers, and corporate clients across a broad range of matters. The docket includes general liability, personal injury, premises liability, construction and real property disputes, insurance defense and coverage, professional liability, product liability, trucking and transportation matters, and commercial and contract litigation. Attorneys in this office are expected to take ownership of their cases, including depositions, hearings, motion practice, and client communication, while working closely with experienced trial lawyers on case strategy and resolution. This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable managing files, developing litigation strategy, and continuing to build depth in their practice within a collaborative, team driven environment.

This is a hands-on role for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on a sophisticated and varied general liability defense docket.

Our Lafayette practice handles a broad range of general liability defense matters, including commercial litigation, transportation and auto liability, premises liability, medical and professional liability, construction defect, insurance coverage, and related business disputes. Attorneys in this office are trusted with real responsibility and work closely with clients to develop thoughtful, practical litigation strategies tailored to their goals and risk tolerance. Attorneys in this office are expected to take ownership of their cases, including depositions, hearings, motion practice, and client communication, while working closely with experienced trial lawyers on case strategy and resolution. This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable managing files, developing litigation strategy, and continuing to build depth in their practice within a collaborative, team driven environment.

Mandeville or New Orleans, Louisiana:

Galloway is seeking a senior litigation associate with 3+ years of experience to join our New Orleans or Mandeville offices and assume responsibility on a sophisticated, high volume, complex litigation docket. This position is designed for an accomplished litigator ready to take ownership of matters across general liability, personal injury and wrongful death, construction defect, premises liability, trucking and commercial transportation, class action, toxic tort, and maritime cases. The ideal candidate brings significant law and motion experience, has taken and defended depositions, and demonstrates sound judgment in managing cases from inception through resolution with minimal oversight. Trial experience is a plus. Experiencing mentoring junior associates and contributing to team development is strongly preferred. This is a hands-on role within a busy defense practice handling general liability, personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, trucking and transportation, premises liability, construction, and insurance coverage matters across Missouri and Illinois.

The position offers meaningful responsibility from the start, including managing discovery, drafting motions, handling depositions and hearings, and working directly with partners, clients, and carriers. We are looking for a motivated associate with strong writing skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage an active docket in a fast paced litigation environment, with a focus on long term growth within the practice.

Atlanta, Georgia: 

Galloway is seeking an associate attorney to join our Atlanta office and take on a meaningful role within a fast paced and growing practice that includes a mix of civil litigation and business-related work. This position is ideal for a practicing attorney who takes ownership of their work, exercises sound judgment, and wants to build a long-term career as part of a collaborative and expanding team. Our Atlanta practice handles a broad range of matters including commercial litigation, construction disputes, insurance defense, premises liability, trucking and transportation cases, and representation of business and development clients, with opportunities to assist on transactional and advisory work as the practice continues to grow.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an active practice and is interested in developing a well-rounded skillset that may include both litigation and business-related matters.
