Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith presented the Claims and Litigation New Orleans Conference on Thursday, October 24, at The Ritz Carlton Hotel. The daylong and annual event featured captivating presentations and lively conversation among industry professionals and Galloway’s skilled insurance defense attorneys.
The annual Claims and Litigation conference serves as an educational, informative, and engaging event for clients, guests, and professional colleagues. Over 200 participants gathered for this year’s edition.
Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance Tim Temple addressed the event as the keynote speaker. As the state’s top insurance official, he is committed to protecting the interests of policyholders while promoting a competitive insurance market that benefits all residents and businesses in the great state of Louisiana. In his remarks, Commissioner Temple provided an overview of various segments of the current insurance market in Louisiana and the challenges facing the citizens of Louisiana in obtaining insurance. He also detailed recent and future legislative efforts to attract more insurance companies to write in Louisiana, including reforms to the Louisiana Insurance Code and claim practices affecting the market.
Additional topics included vendor management, negotiations in claims and litigation, risk management, coverage, witness preparation for depositions and trial, and claim financing. Galloway presenters were Doris Bobadilla, Autumn George, Tim Hassinger, Mark “Tiger” Pharr, Michael Grimley, and James Prather. They were joined by several attorneys from the firm’s Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Florida, and Texas offices.
