CPE webinar August 24th

The BP Oil Spill Reimbursement Process
CPE Credits: 4

Presenter: Phillip Howell, Director with Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith

Individuals and businesses along the Gulf of Mexico coast have been hit hard by the economic impact of the 100+ day old oil spill. Many CPAs are being asked to assist their clients or companies navigate the British Petroleum oil spill reimbursement process. Often these people and companies are under serious economic pressure, impacting their ability to pay for these professional services. The state CPA societies from the states that border the Gulf, in cooperation with the Accounting CPE Network (ACPEN) and BizVision, have come together to provide their members, and other CPAs in the Gulf states, with an informational webcast, produced by the FICPA, covering the reimbursement process.

The course, which qualifies for 4 hours of CPE credit, will be provided free to members of these five state CPA societies (FICPA, TSCPA, ASCPA, MSCPA, and LCPA). Non-members located in these five states may register on their state CPA society website at a discounted tuition of $40 using the non-member rate. This August 24th (and September 1st replays) webcast is to inform CPAs how to advise and help their clients and employers to optimize the benefits available from the reimbursement process.
