We are pleased to announce that Kathryn Platt (Gulfport, MS), Austin Moretz (Pensacola, FL), Maggie Potter (Tampa, FL) have been named Directors of the firm, effective January 1, 2019.
Kathryn Platt, the daughter of a litigator, learned about the law and how to argue at a young age. She is passionate about obtaining positive results for her clients. Whether Kathryn is defending a client in large, complex construction litigation or representing a client in a small collections matter, she provides the representation that she would expect from a lawyer. Kathryn understands the importance of keeping clients informed while developing an aggressive path to success. Since joining Galloway Johnson in 2005, Kathryn has represented large corporations, small businesses, insurance companies, and individuals throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
Austin Moretz has developed a practice which provides an effective and efficient service for the resolution of his client’s legal needs. His practice demonstrates the importance of keeping the client informed and in control while timely accomplishing each of the client’s goals. Austin is a Florida and Georgia licensed civil trial lawyer whose practice encompasses casualty defense, construction defect litigation, workers’ compensation defense, professional malpractice litigation, real estate litigation, and a variety of first-party and third-party insurance issues. Through work and educational experiences, Austin has developed a dedicated work ethic and genuine desire to serve as an effective advocate for his clients. Austin has achieved positive results in dozens of cases throughout Florida and Georgia and has developed a unique familiarity with the law and its application in the two states.
Maggie Potter, a Florida native, practices in the areas of insurance defense, property insurance, general liability defense and coverage. While in law school and prior to her admittance to the Florida Bar, Maggie was a licensed independent insurance adjuster. During her years as an insurance adjuster, she primarily concentrated on first party property claim investigations and coverage analysis in addition to oversight and management of claims and insurance carrier accounts. Maggie is licensed to practice in the state of Florida. Prior to joining the Tampa office of Galloway Johnson, she began her practice focusing solely on insurance defense litigation with an emphasis on sinkhole matters. She has participated and presented at numerous seminars and round table discussions on general claims handling as well as sinkhole claims handling. She currently serves as an attorney member on the Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit.
