With offices in Texas, Louisiana, and St. Louis, our team knows good BBQ. We also know that championing our communities is a small way that we can go way above and way beyond in being good corporate citizens and neighbors. In that spirit, Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith has proudly supported Hogs for the Cause for fifteen years.
Hogs for the Cause is a two-day festival and cook off that has been voted Best Local Charity Event in New Orleans and has grown to become the premier nationwide source of funding for families with children fighting pediatric brain cancer. They work with both local and national children’s hospitals, including hospitals in New Orleans, Atlanta, and Texas, to offer monetary relief to families with children who have brain cancer through programs and housing.
Hosted in New Orleans, the 2025 Hogs was a sold out, record breaking event that raised over $5.25 million.
Though the event is local to New Orleans, the entire Firm supports our Hogs fundraising efforts. A firm-wide March Madness bracket challenge and Super Bowl squares brought friendly competition across Galloway’s thirteen offices. Volunteering during the festival is open to all team members, with Louisiana and Pensacola well represented during the worthwhile event.
Galloway’s team, Aporkalypse Now, raised over $25,000 through fundraising events – the most ever for the team – and sold more food than they ever have. Overall, the team finished fifth for Grand Champion standings out of 85 teams. Additional awards include:

- 3rd in Shoulder
- 7th in Blue Plate Mayo Side
- 9th in Sauce
- 12th in Whole Hog
- 15th in Wings
Director Kelsey Bonnaffons champions the cause and the greater good by chairing Galloway’s team and working with Galloway team members throughout the year for fundraising efforts. She believes that effective communication and collaboration is key to strong client advocacy and community outreach.
