In just a few short months, Special Counsel Catherine Arpen has notched several wins for Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith clients in Florida. Catherine joined the Jacksonville office in July 2024, and in short order, she has gone way above and way beyond in championing Galloway clients.
Working with Director Autumn George, Catherine has already made a difference in a number of cases, and she successfully won a small hearing on work-product privilege within her first month as a Galloway team member.
Catherine partnered with our client, a large grocery chain, on a slip and fall matter. Meticulous and thorough, she skillfully developed a defense strategy for this case. She encouraged our client to provide closed-circuit television footage early in the process, knowing that the footage showed that our client was not negligent in any way. The Plaintiff quickly voluntarily dismissed the suit. In strategically offering a non-traditional approach to the defense, Catherine secured a positive result for our client, saving them significant litigation costs.
Most recently, our Jacksonville team handled a mold exposure case that had potential exposure in the multi-million-dollar range. Catherine, Autumn, and the Galloway team worked diligently during the hearing stage, resulting in the Plaintiff finding themselves without expert testimony. At mediation, our clients were able to settle for just over $100,000, a much more favorable amount, ensuring they could keep their business operating towards its goals.
With an eye towards solutions that meet our clients’ business and legal objectives, Catherine delivers result-driven representation in a short time on the Galloway Jacksonville team.
