Featured: Jason P. Waguespack

Jason Waguespack, a Director and Firm Managing Director at Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith, has been named to the 2026 Power List: Port & Maritime by New Orleans CityBusiness. The prestigious honor recognizes a small group of influential professionals and leaders in the Gulf Coast maritime sector.

Waguespack has served as Galloway’s Managing Director since 2009, and in that time, the Firm has seen substantial growth across the Southeastern United States in the number of talented attorneys and the varied practice areas in which they represent clients. In addition to his Firm leadership, he maintains an active and full docket of maritime and international law matters. Waguespack’s maritime practice focuses on marine casualty losses, contract disputes, cargo claims, personal injuries, regulatory, and environmental matters.

Beyond his practice, Waguespack is an associate professor of law at Tulane University School of Law, an adjunct faculty member at Tulane’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, and serves on several boards dedicated to the historic preservation and support of the arts in New Orleans. He was recently named to the Leadership in Law Hall of Fame from New Orleans CityBusiness and chairman of the board for the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

With another maritime recognition, Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith solidifies its position as a regionally positioned, premier law firm for maritime clients. Galloway’s 24/7 Emergency Response team immediately provides strategic representation in investigation, evidence preservation, and claims handling when moments count in marine casualty.

Congratulations to Jason Waguespack on the 2026 Power List honor.
