Jason Waguespack Named to Tulane Admiralty Law Institute Advisory Board

New Orleans maritime attorney, and Galloway Managing Director, Jason Waguespack has been elected to the National Advisory Board of the Tulane Admiralty Law Institute. His appointment to the board is recognition of his maritime expertise and his participation of the ALI. Waguespack recently participated in the 2026 event on the panel discussing how chokepoints, warzones, fraudulent registries, and sanctions impact global maritime trade.

Tulane Admiralty Law Institute
Held every other spring, the Tulane ALI is a recognized and premier conference for industry professionals, academics, and maritime attorneys on the Tulane University campus. It is the oldest and largest continuing education program on maritime law. Galloway maritime attorneys have been crucially involved in both the planning and presentation of the event, highlighting the Firm’s maritime expertise and experience.

Jason Waguespack
Jason Waguespack has served as Managing Director of Galloway since 2009. With over 30 years of experience, his practice is focused on litigation and arbitration related to all aspects of maritime and international law. Waguespack represents owners, charterers, operators, P&I clubs, and other marine insurers in all types of marine casualty losses and contract disputes, including collisions, cargo claims, charter party disputes, regulatory and environmental matters,
and personal injuries.

Waguespack is an associate professor of law at Tulane University School of Law. There, he teaches the course on maritime charter parties to upperclassmen and graduate students. He is also a member of the adjunct faculty at the Tulane University A.B. Freeman School of Business, where he teaches a course on international business law, with a focus on international transactions and transportation.

Waguespack’s election to the National Advisory Board of the Tulane Admiralty Law Institute joins an impressive list of distinctions, including recognition in Best Lawyers multiple times as an admiralty and maritime lawyer, recognition as a “New Orleans Top Lawyer” in admiralty and maritime law multiple times by New Orleans Magazine, recipient of the Distinguished Maritime Lawyer Award from the New Orleans Bar Association, and induction in the Leadership in the Law Hall of Fame by New Orleans CityBusiness.

Galloway joins Jason Waguespack’s maritime and Tulane colleagues in congratulating him on this appointment.
