We are proud to announce that John Galloway has been selected as the recipient of the 2013 Arceneaux Professionalism Award by the New Orleans Bar Association. The Award is given annually to the member of the Association who best exemplifies integrity, honesty and civility in the practice of law.
In 1987, with only three partners and two associates, John left what was then McGlinchey Stafford Mintz Cellini & Lang and formed Galloway Johnson Tompkins & Burr. And over the past twenty-six years, his reputation, professionalism and unassuming leadership have been key reasons for the success and growth of Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith to now ten offices across the Gulf South and almost one hundred lawyers.
Tim Burr began practicing with John at McGlinchey, a close relationship now spanning over thirty-four years. “The blend of artful, effective, and persuasive advocate with gentle, caring soul who has a wonderful sense of humor, have made John an ideal partner and friend. It is especially fitting that he receive the honor and recognition that the Arceneaux Professionalism Award bestows, because he would never seek such a thing for himself,” Burr proudly explains. “John would say that honor, integrity, and civility should be the norm and not deserving of special recognition. And while it is hard to argue with that premise, it is even harder to argue that there is anyone more deserving of recognition for exceptional levels of all three.”
