This past week, firm attorneys Joe Hassinger and Jason Camelford won Summary Judgment for the firm’s client, a vascular surgeon. Following knee replacement surgery, the plaintiff developed an occluded intimal flap, which caused a complete block of blood flow to her foot. Several attempts were made to restore blood flow, but those were ultimately unsuccessful. Our attorneys were able to establish, through effective direct and cross examination of several physicians at deposition, that our client met the standard of care. Consequently, after considering the facts, memoranda, applicable law and argument of counsel, the Court granted the Motion, finding that the contention that our client breached the standard of care to be unsupported by the overwhelming evidence presented.
