New Orleans, LA– June 11, 2012, – Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith, PLC, a Gulf South regional law firm is proud to announce it has received notification from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell that three attorneys, Jason E. Wilson of its Lafayette, Louisiana office, Scott B. Mueller of its St. Louis, Missouri office, and Michael D. Ruel of its Tampa, Florida office have received its highest Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating.

            All three attorneys were given the prestigious “AV” rating from their peers, which mean that they were deemed to have very high professional ethics and preeminent legal ability.             The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings evaluates lawyers in the United States and Canada based on the anonymous opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary, including both those who are rated and those who are not.  

          Associate Jason E. Wilson has extensive experience practicing in the areas of insurance defense, construction, employer’s liability, property insurance, subrogation, and environmental law. Jason practices in the firm’s Lafayette office (328 Settlers Trace Blvd. Lafayette, LA 70508) and is a member of multiple professional associations, such as the Louisiana Bar Association, the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, the American Inns Court of Acadiana, Louisiana Claims Association, Defense Research Association (DRI), and the Professional Insurance Association (PIA).  Wilson is admitted to practice in all state courts in Louisiana and the U.S. District Courts in Louisiana, including the Western, Eastern, and Middle districts.  

           Special Counsel Scott B. Mueller excels in a wide range of practice areas, including corporate transactions, title resolution, banking, real property, and foreclosure. Mueller is licensed to practice in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois, including the U.S. District Courts of Kansas, Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, and the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. In addition, Mueller belongs to a multitude of professional associations including the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and has volunteered at the St. Louis Older Residents Program since 2007. Previously, Scott also was a member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Kansas City and the Guardian Aid Ad Litem for three St. Louis City CASA Foster Children.  

             Associate Michael D. Ruel joined the Tampa Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith team in 2010. Before joining the firm, Ruel began his practice in Pensacola, Florida, where he focused on insurance defense litigation. Here at Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith, Michael focuses on a variety of practices such as construction defects, maritime & admiralty, contract, personal injury defense, first-party bad faith insurance, architects, engineers, and contractors. Michael is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is a member of the Florida Bar and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Prior to his legal career, he served in the United States Air Force as a member of the 55th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida.
