Timothy Hassinger, Director at Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith announced he will be an instructor at Energy Training Solutions (ETS) Rig School in Houston, TX. The Rig School will hold its first session July 18th-22nd and the second school October 24th-28th, 2011.
ETS says, “The future of the drilling industry for new oil and gas is moving offshore. The remaining unexplored basins that could potentially contain oil and gas are offshore. There are unique challenges to drilling offshore particularly in deep water. This course explains how oil and gas wells are drilled in a marine environment and the unique challenges that must be overcome.”
For over thirteen years, Tim Hassinger has aggressively litigated matters in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana with a special emphasis on maritime personal injury, Jones Act, class action, fraud, products liability and contractual indemnity claims. As evidence of the trust of his peers, he has received an AV Preeminent rating through Martindale-Hubbell and has been appointed Defense Liaison Counsel in one of the most complex class action cases in Louisiana history. He also was recently named a Top Lawyer by New Orleans Magazine in the area of Maritime Defense litigation. Since 2005, he has worked as a Special Assistant Attorney General defending the State of Louisiana as outside counsel in maritime, transportation and other civil litigation as well. He also was recently selected by the Faculty to serve as an Adjunct Professor teaching Maritime Personal Injury to night students at Loyola Law School in New Orleans.
Tim has argued before the Louisiana Supreme Court, appellate courts, and state and federal district courts across Louisiana. He also has been particularly active with the Louisiana State and local Bar Associations, serving on the Editorial Board of the Louisiana Bar Journal from 1999 to 2003, the Louisiana State Bar Association’s House of Delegates for a two-year term, and on the Executive Board of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, serving as Chair of its Publications and Approach the Bench Committees. He was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Bar Association for a three-year term and continues to serve as Editor of Briefly Speaking, a position he has held for over seven years. He is the founder and Chair of the Legal Research & Writing Committee of the New Orleans Bar Association as well. Tim is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State and New Orleans Bar Associations, the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the Legal Writing Institute, and Scribes: The American Society of Legal Writers. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Louisiana, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.
