Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith has earned another victory in protecting our clients’ business in the trucking and transportation industry. Director Tim Hassinger tried a case to verdict in Galveston District Court.
After an interstate collision in Texas, The City of Texas City filed suit for the total loss of its ambulance that was struck by an approaching 18-wheeler, seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages as a result. After the Plaintiff rested, however, Galloway moved for directed verdict, arguing the Plaintiff failed to establish damages through admissible evidence at trial. The Court agreed, granted a directed verdict, and dismissed the Plaintiff’s claims.
