Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith, a leading law firm in the energy insurance sector, served as headline sponsor of the 2024 Energy Insurance Americas conference on Thursday, November 21, in Houston, Texas. Galloway provides result-driven representation in the oil & gas and energy industries, with years of experience and a deep understanding of the industry’s evolving and complex legal landscape.

Director Frederick “Billy” Swaim moderated a panel on finance, the insurance sector, and asset developers. The conversation was engaging and lively, focusing on insurance’s central role in energy transition and the three main pillars of energy transition. With expertise in maritime law, Billy also led a roundtable discussion on the Jones Act and its impact on offshore drilling.

Director Kelly Hartmann moderated a panel on extreme weather and the impact on renewables. With weather events like hurricanes and hail, severe weather can adversely effect or damage valuable machinery or property. Traditional and nontraditional insurance, such as parametric insurance, was discussed.

Director Jason Wilson, and Associates Alexa Youssef and Jacob Soto in our Houston office, participated and represented the firm during the conference. Our attorneys have experience and expertise in handling complex energy issues, understanding that energy is a unique regulatory environment with specialized laws.

For decades, Galloway has handled cases that have yielded significant, precedent-setting decisions for the energy industry, including cases at the district court and appellate court levels. Our sponsorship of the 2024 Energy Insurance Americas conference is another example of our championing our clients and industries, going way above and way beyond in the Gulf South, Midwest, and nationwide.
