OVERVIEW
Jennifer Buckingham focuses on insurance coverage, immigration, premises liability, professional malpractice, contractual liability, and personal injury defense.
Jennifer received the B.A. and J.D. degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans. As an undergraduate, she studied political science, Latin American studies, and Spanish, with a special interest in Southern Cone political history. In law school, she focused on international trade, civil procedure, and maritime law, earning the Certificate in International and Comparative Law. She represented Tulane at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition in Vienna and served as research assistant to the director of the Admiralty Law Institute.
After college Jennifer worked in real estate development; subsequently, she moved to Kiev, Ukraine, where she worked for an NGO analyzing trade and economic policy. Following law school, she practiced as a plaintiffs’ attorney in New Orleans, litigating cases involving personal injury, multiple district litigation, and workers’ compensation. Jennifer subsequently practiced in Chicago for two years, representing a predominantly Spanish-speaking clientele primarily in personal injury claims and immigration.
Jennifer is fluent in Spanish, Ukrainian, and Polish and is admitted to practice in all state courts in Louisiana, Illinois, and New York, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle District of Louisiana.
