Korey

Korey Lewis builds lasting, strong partnerships with clients, based on respect and responsiveness. Korey has provided result-driven representation in matters at both the state and federal levels.

Korey concentrates her practice on civil defense, particularly insurance defense of personal injury and property damage cases. She previously served as an Associate City Counselor for the City of St. Louis, gaining valuable experience and specializing in employment cases. Additionally, Korey has achieved successful resolution of cases with dispositive motions, in mediation, and has tried several bench and jury trials.

Korey proudly resides in the City of St. Louis with her husband, their two rescue dogs and cat. She enjoys exploring parks, spending time in her garden, and baking treats to share with her friends and family. Passing along her knowledge to the next generation, Korey volunteers as a mock trial coach for her high school alma mater, Nerinx Hall High School.

Representative Matters

  • Achieved summary judgment in a complex employment discrimination case which was upheld by the 8th Circuit and ultimately remanded after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the “significant harm” standard in the case of lateral job transfers. I subsequently achieved a successful global settlement of the discrimination case and the Plaintiff’s administrative appeals.
  • Obtained a directed verdict at trial in favor of defendant City of St. Louis on an employee’s claim of alleged interference with rights under the Family Medical Leave Act.
  • Obtained a directed verdict at trial in favor of defendant City of St. Louis on an employee’s claim for punitive damages in a Missouri state race discrimination case.
