ABOUT

Lindsay

Lindsay Meador Young puts people first and approaches each case with solutions in mind. With years of experience and success, she tailors her litigation strategy to achieving positive outcomes, especially when the results deeply affect each party. Lindsay skillfully balances a large family law caseload while also partnering with clients in the corporate sector. Defending families and business interests as a steadfast champion for the greater good, she goes way above and way beyond for her clients with tenacious advocacy and timely service.

Lindsay has expertise in representing clients with adoptions, child custody, child support, community property partitions, divorce, prenuptial agreements, and spousal support matters. She protects what matters most, assisting her clients with sensitivity, respect, and discretion. Lindsay brings empathy and compassion to her family law practice, and when circumstances call for it, she aggressively fights for her clients’ interests if amicable resolutions cannot be reached.

For her corporate clients, Lindsay is an accomplished defense litigator and focuses her business practice on premises liability, professional liability, insurance defense and coverage. She has experience delivering result-driven representation for property owners, insureds, insurers, and businesses.

Lindsay is a native of the Acadiana area and is actively involved in the Lafayette community. She served as President for the Lafayette Bar Association from 2023 to 2024 and has been recognized for her extensive pro bono efforts. When not advocating for her clients, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and son, playing with their dogs, hunting, fishing, and working out at the gym.

Representative Matters

  • Obtained primary custody for a father of his teenage son despite more than two prior attempts by others to do so.
  • Obtained ex parte temporary custody for a mother of her minor children and, ultimately, sole custody.
  • Aided a client with a partition of community property, saving more than $300,000.
  • Resolved a child custody and support case between parents so that they could continue to co-parent.
  • Finalized the intra-family adoption of a minor child to a step-parent.
  • Negotiated a high-conflict custody, support, and property case to a satisfactory resolution for the client.
  • Established a right-of-passage in favor of an enclosed estate, while in the same action reforming a cash sale to remove the cloud on a title related to the same estate.
  • Obtained summary judgement in an action to reform an act of sale wherein the incorrect party was named as the seller, creating a defect in the title that ultimately reduced the lender’s interest in the property.
  • Successfully defended a client against a property owner’s petition for injunctive relief using only oral argument.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a major site engineering firm, wherein the plaintiffs alleged that the engineers failed to provide a proper groundwater analysis during the construction of their home.
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of a commercial property owner when his title was at issue due to a defective tax sale. The judgment was based on the defendant’s tacit ratification of the subsequent sales and cleared title to his property, allowing it to be put back in commerce.
  • Successfully defended an insurer against the holder of an owner’s policy who brought wrongful claims for defense and indemnity based on a boundary line dispute. Summary judgment was granted in favor of the insurer after Galloway accurately defined and argued that the survey exception, a commonly used Schedule B exception, excluded coverage for the claims.
  • Secured a jury verdict for a defendant insured despite extensive medical treatment by the plaintiff and less than favorable liability facts.
