Representative Matters
- Obtained primary custody for a father of his teenage son despite more than two prior attempts by others to do so.
- Obtained ex parte temporary custody for a mother of her minor children and, ultimately, sole custody.
- Aided a client with a partition of community property, saving more than $300,000.
- Resolved a child custody and support case between parents so that they could continue to co-parent.
- Finalized the intra-family adoption of a minor child to a step-parent.
- Negotiated a high-conflict custody, support, and property case to a satisfactory resolution for the client.
- Established a right-of-passage in favor of an enclosed estate, while in the same action reforming a cash sale to remove the cloud on a title related to the same estate.
- Obtained summary judgement in an action to reform an act of sale wherein the incorrect party was named as the seller, creating a defect in the title that ultimately reduced the lender’s interest in the property.
- Successfully defended a client against a property owner’s petition for injunctive relief using only oral argument.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a major site engineering firm, wherein the plaintiffs alleged that the engineers failed to provide a proper groundwater analysis during the construction of their home.
- Obtained summary judgment in favor of a commercial property owner when his title was at issue due to a defective tax sale. The judgment was based on the defendant’s tacit ratification of the subsequent sales and cleared title to his property, allowing it to be put back in commerce.
- Successfully defended an insurer against the holder of an owner’s policy who brought wrongful claims for defense and indemnity based on a boundary line dispute. Summary judgment was granted in favor of the insurer after Galloway accurately defined and argued that the survey exception, a commonly used Schedule B exception, excluded coverage for the claims.
- Secured a jury verdict for a defendant insured despite extensive medical treatment by the plaintiff and less than favorable liability facts.
