ABOUT

Stephen J.

The Managing Director of Galloway’s St. Louis office, Stephen Moore loves the art of trying cases, crafting arguments that appeal to and persuade not only the jury, but also opposing counsel, opposing parties, and the court. He is passionate about the process of assembling a case from the disparate facts and law that make up any lawsuit and presenting that case to a jury. Stephen also believes in the importance of listening to clients to determine their definition of success in any matter. He works as collaboratively, efficiently, and cost-effectively as possible to ensure an outcome in the best interest of his client. Stephen’s clients appreciate his proactive communication and responsiveness, as he is always ready to offer a suggestion, answer a question, or provide an update. He also strives to understand his clients’ business objectives – the big picture into which litigation must fit. He often participates in his clients’ industry associations and offers clients tailored educational presentations on subjects related to risk management, discovery, and trial preparation.

Stephen has defended commercial insurers, businesses, and professionals in personal injury and property damage cases since 1994. He frequently handles construction, wrongful death, negligence, professional liability, premises liability, commercial auto, construction defect, fraud, coverage, and first-party property litigation. In recent years he has developed a focus on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation.

Stephen started the firm’s St. Louis office after relocating there with his pregnant wife and three-year-old following Hurricane Katrina. For fun, Stephen runs and loves spending time with his family. He also enjoys publishing and speaking on a variety of legal topics, including insurance coverage and bad faith.
