ABOUT

Bowman

Campbell “Bowman” Fetzer is a Louisiana defense attorney who represents insurers, motor carriers, and businesses in high-exposure and complex liability claims.  With more than fourteen years of experience, he delivers clear communication and disciplined litigation management that help clients evaluate exposure early and make informed decisions at every stage of a claim.

Before entering the legal profession, Bowman worked in his family’s construction business, managing commercial renovation projects and residential and commercial builds across Louisiana. That background gives him a practical, on-the-ground perspective when defending construction-related claims and advising insurers and businesses facing property damage, premises liability, and related disputes, particularly where project scope, workmanship, and contractor responsibility are disputed.  He regularly defends clients in matters involving trucking and transportation accidents, insurance defense and coverage, personal injury, products liability, and other complex liability exposures, including work on a team that uncovered a large-scale commercial trucking fraud scheme in Louisiana involving coordinated investigation and defense strategy.

Bowman partners with mid-size motor carriers, niche insurers, and businesses across the insurance, transportation and logistics, construction, retail, hospitality, property management, and recreational industries, including carriers underwriting timber, pest control, and outdoor recreational risks. He works closely with risk managers, claims professionals, and in-house counsel, providing pragmatic problem-solving and litigation strategies aligned with business objectives and claim-handling priorities.

Outside of his practice, Bowman enjoys spending time with his children and being outdoors hunting and fishing.

Representative Matters

  • While defending a trucking client in a personal injury matter, helped uncover a fraud ring, which the media dubbed “Operation Sideswipe.” The case ultimately resulted in federal criminal convictions of the plaintiffs, their attorney, and numerous others connected to this and similar staged accidents. The case was featured in Insurance Journal’s “Most Noteworthy Topics” in 2020.
  • Obtained an outstanding result for a trucking client in exposing medical funding scheme, resulting in an order from the court significantly reducing the amount of medical expenses the plaintiffs could recover.
  • Secured summary judgment on behalf of a restaurant/bar in a premises liability claim.
  • Following cross-examination, obtained a personal injury plaintiff’s agreement to dismiss the entire case against our client on the record during his deposition.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a client on Louisiana’s recreational immunity statutes.
