Megan Jackler is a litigator and former supervisory immigration judge, who brings her expertise gained through years of public service to partner with corporations and businesses in protecting their interests and achieving their objectives. A pragmatic problem solver, she analyzes and approaches each matter with critical and “outside the box” thinking and collaboration.
Megan represents clients facing significant, often high-profile, litigation and works closely with them to mitigate risk, evaluate exposure, and reach a favorable outcome amid public interest. Adept at pre-trial litigation, she handled the expert assignment in a federal court trucking claim, which ultimately led to a successful settlement on behalf of the client. In her Longshore and Defense Base Act practice, she deftly analyzes exposure and handles discovery, leveraging her own Afghanistan deployment experience to advise on risk and loss in claims by third-country nationals who served alongside American forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Prior to joining Galloway, Megan was designated a litigation specialist with the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, handling some of the most complex matters involving multiple parties in interest. Specifically, she was lauded for her negotiation and trial skills in hundreds of civil, criminal, and administrative cases over her 12 years as a Navy JAG attorney. Appointed as the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Southern Mississippi for over two years in Gulfport, Megan successfully prosecuted well over 100 cases on behalf of the Navy and other federal government agencies along the Gulf Coast, earning a reputation as a tough but fair courtroom presence.
Megan applied that courtroom presence on the bench as the supervisory immigration judge of the New Orleans Immigration Court for nearly four years, where she balanced supervising judges and staff while managing her own docket with thousands of cases.
Outside of her practice, Megan enjoys spending time with her young family, cooking, and playing the ukulele.
