Representative Matters

  • Secured summary judgment in favor of insurer in a declaratory judgment action filed in response to an underlying lawsuit involving dram shop allegations against a restaurant/bar policyholder.
  • Obtained summary judgment in federal court on a seven-count complaint involving a residential title dispute, including judgment for the client on its three-count counterclaim.
  • Secured an outstanding result for an equine instructor in a case involving a plaintiff thrown from a horse who alleged a lower back injury and underwent surgery. By uncovering prior complaints and presenting them during the expert’s deposition, we prompted the expert to retract his opinions, leading to a significantly reduced settlement.
  • Obtained a dismissal in federal court for an insurance client based on lack of subject matter jurisdiction over challenges to state court judgments.
  • Negotiated favorable settlements in numerous high-exposure cases.
